Westminster Health Care
The Search for Inner Peace!
First of all a little anecdotal information to help place Westminster Health Care (WHC) in your consciousness.
The Priory rehabilitation centres are part of the WHC business portfolio, a place where the rich, famous and seriously stressed can pull in from the fast lane to receive some serious TLC. Famous guests in the past have included Paul Gascoigne, Kate Moss and a very famous politician we're not allowed to mention.
Our own involvement with Westminster Health started when we were asked to develop a corporate identity for the specialist health services division, a group of ten diverse hospitals operating within the area of mental health - including brain injury, addiction treatment, child and adolescent problems as well as long-term mental illness.
How to create a unifying collective look for the division while respecting the need to express the individuality of each of the ten hospitals?
An impossible identity conundrum?
After extensive research on identity concepts that would somehow collectivise and individualise simultaneously, we arrived at a highly original and superbly appropriate solution.
The Mandala.
Mandala is the Sanskrit word for circle and has been used by diverse cultures over thousands of years to symbolise completeness, balance and inner peace. A sense of total mental, emotional and spiritual harmony.
We then developed ten mandalas from various historical periods and parts of the world to represent each of the specialist services. An additional, simplified and classical mandala being used across all corporate communication.
This imaginative identity (and all the resulting marketing material) captured everyone's imagination, being warmly received by each hospital and recognised within the industry as a ground-breaking conceptual approach.
